Backup and Restore Database using Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC)

Access PPAC

  1. Open your browser and go to https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/resources/capacity
  2. Log in by using an administrator account.

Backup Database in PPAC

Step 1: Navigate to the Environment • Go to PPAC > Environments. • Select the environment you wish to back up. • Click on the ellipsis (…) next to the environment name. file

Step 2: Choose One of the Backup Methods Solution 1:

  1. Navigate to Backup + Restore > New Manual Backup.

  1. Enter a Label for the backup.
  2. Click Create to initiate the backup.

Solution 2:

  1. Navigate to Backup + Restore > Restore or Manage.

  1. On the Restore/Manage page, go to the Manual tab.
  2. Click on New Manual Backup.

  1. Enter a Label and create the backup.

file Step 3: Verify Backup • After creation, the backup can be found under Backup + Restore > Restore or Manage > Manual. file

Restore Database in PPAC

  1. Navigate to Backup + Restore > Restore or Manage > Manual.
  2. Select the backup you wish to restore.
  3. Click on the ellipsis (…) next to it and choose Restore.

  1. Enter the necessary details and confirm the restore process.

Refresh PROD Database to UAT by using PPAC

Steps to Refresh:

  1. Navigate to PPAC > Environments > PROD Environment > (…).

  1. Click on Copy.

  1. Configure the following settings: • Copy Over: Everything (copies all application data) • Transactions Copy: No (If set to “Yes”, the transaction tables in UAT will be truncated after the refresh.) • Target Environment: UAT Environment

✅ Tip: If you only need to refresh UAT with updated functions (without data), select the option to copy customizations and schema only. file
